Research

CIMAT-Monterrey conducts research in the following areas:

Econometric Modeling
Oriented towards the development of applications that incorporate methodological advances in multivariate analysis and time series analysis, among other techniques, that contribute to economic knowledge at the local, national and international levels.

Methods for the Exploration and Prediction of Data with High Dimensionality
We study and propose effective methods to analyze large volumes of data with high dimensionality, i.e. with a large number of variables. These methods include exploratory analysis (unsupervised methods) and prediction of unobserved data (supervised methods).

Image Processing and Analysis
Our goal is to solve problems in this field and develop applications related to other areas of science and technology. It is of particular interest to pursue the study and development of new theoretical models of probabilistic segmentation (PS) and the search for new applications of PS.

Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
CIMAT-Monterrey has an office within the Health campus of UANL (Autonomous University of the State of Nuevo León), where it is actively involved in biostatistics and bioinformatics research.

The academic activities conducted by CIMAT-Monterrey include outreach, workshops and thesis counseling.
