The paleochronology building workshop, with methodology comparisons and discussion of different dating techniques, statistical approaches, as well as hands-on use of specialized software such as Bacon, Bpeat, BChron, OxCal, etc., will be held in the beautiful colonial town of San Miguel de Allende in the center of Mexico.
The final program is not yet decided upon and suggestions and contributed presentations from the attendees are indeed welcome!

It is planned as a residential workshop with in-house breakfast and lunch and free time after late afternoon.  The proposed hotel is Cantesse: http://www.cantesse.com (changing name from Hotel Misión de los Ángeles).

San Miguel de Allende is located c. 350km North West of Mexico City: http://www.turismosanmiguel.com.mx

The regional airport to use is Bajío/Leon, airport code BJX, and is about 90min drive from San Miguel.  We will have support from CIMAT (Andres' workplace) to handle the web page, credit card payments etc. and possibly we will have some transport from/to BJX for the workshop participants.  The airport has several daily flights from/to Mexico City, Dallas (American Airlines) and Houston (Continental).   There are regular flights from/to Los Angeles and Oakland/San Francisco.  It is also possible to fly in to Mexico City and take the 4 hours bus ride to San Miguel.

Cost: 600.00 USD.  This covers 5 hotel nights, 5 buffet breakfasts, 4 buffet lunches, coffee breaks and workshop room. We are applying for funding from PAGES and INQUA to cover for part of the costs; more about this later.  Participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 15 August. The workshop will end on Friday 20 August before lunch.
