Title: What is a spinor?

Abstract: Spinors were discovered by E. Cartan over a hundred years ago
and have been essential in Particle Physics for almost as long.
While their physical importance is not disputed, in geometry they are not
as widely used or even known as most other geometrical concepts
(Riemannian metrics, complex structures, etc.).
In this talk, I will try to introduce them as naturally as I possibly can,
show how one can manipulate them to gain some understanding,
and show their connection to special geometric structures (special holonomy).
