CIMAT is organized under four main areas:

Pure maths, Computer Sciences, Applied Maths and Probability & Statistics.

The four research areas maintain collaborative relationships with researchers and counterpart departments at national and international institutions. This collaboration promotes, among other things, the generation of scientific knowledge and its publication in co-authorships, the presence of renowned researchers for visits and academic stays at CIMAT, and the organization of academic events with international participation.
